The intention of this project was to design a calendar month in the style of an artistic period.

CONCEPT
Rather than designing in the style of an art era, the calendar was designed in the style of an iconic designer - Massimo Vignelli. Research on Vignelli's design philosophy and approach was done through studying his book; The Vignelli Canon.

INSIGHT
This project taught me the value of learning art history; studying great designers from the past create building blocks to pull inspiration from. Looking to the past is also a solid method to separate myself from what is trending or what everyone else is doing, it gives me a wider scope on the possibilities of design.
